Description
Do you have a child who is a late talker or are you a new parent who would like guidance on creating a positive language learning environment at home?

1A ‘late talker’ is a toddler between18 to 30 months of age with a limited spoken vocabulary expected for a child of his/her age. Late talkers are typically developing well in other areas such as understanding skills, play skills, motor skills and social skills.

What Can I Do as a Parent of a Late Talker?
While children do develop at their own pace to some extent, there are certain milestones which should be reached by a specific age.

Some late talkers do learn to speak normally on their own without any speech therapy or interventions at all. However, there is no way to tell for sure if your child will be one of those or not.

2Studies have shown that children who receive early intervention do catch up with their peers and brain plasticity is maximal from birth to 7 years. So, the earlier that therapy is started, the better.
